WIJZER (DAN JE WAS) nr.1 in the Dutch Charts
march 2011 Project Liebestod with „Amsterdam Sinfonietta”
Upon invitation of the European Concert Hall Organisation, Amsterdam Sinfonietta will play a multimedia programme entitled ‘Liebestod’.The highly successful and popular composer Michel van der Aa will compose a new work for solo cello, string orchestra and film projection. The Argentinian cellist Sol Gabetta will appear as soloist in this piece. It will be combined with a complete performance of the Lyric Suite by Alban Berg. In between the six movements, the Dutch actor Jeroen Willems will play short scenes, based on love letters of Alban Berg. Pierre Audi is responsible for the mise-en-espace. Wagner’s Prelude is the opening work in this theatrical programme about love and disillusionment.
